Brands Hatch evening, 25th June - 28/6/09
On what must have been the warmest most sultary evening of the year so far 20 members gathered in the paddock for what looked the perfect summer evening of track time. It promised an hour and a quarter of track time on the hugely popular Indy circuit. It is the ideal circuit for the first timer, a short lap which means it is relatively easy to learn and get into a rthym, but also loved by old hands as a fast challenge. Many liken it to a roller coaster ride as you swoop over Paddock Hill into the compression, up to Druids hairpin to come swiftly back down to the technically difficult left hander of Graham Hill.
MGs-on-Track had one session and our good friends from Club Triumph had the other with both sessions having many first timers out. But following the briefing in which all the drivers were made aware of this and the fact first timers had an N sticker on the back of the car, the on track etiquette was to the usual high standard. Certainly Dave Francis, Warren Johnson, Jamie Edgar and Paul Phillips our first timers had a wonderful evening and all are keen to return to track soon.
We all look forward to returning to this lovely venue in December to round the year out, why not join us when the bookings open later in the year.

Cadwell Park - 1st May - 3/5/09
The fine weather fairy was with us again for our trip to Cadwell Park. The track sparkled in the early morni ng sunlight, the freshly cut grass was a picture as everyone arrived eager to see what challenges the track, nicknamed the mini Nurburgring, had to offer.  MGoT was joined by Club Triumph and Mazda MX5 Owner Club for the day. There was some trepidation as the people who had never driven here before observed the twisty track, dips, hill climbs and sharp bends but once everyone had been out for a session or two, most were hooked and could not wait to get back out and master this circuit.  For people that are not driving it is a lovely circuit to walk round and very pretty with good vantage points to watch the action.  The photo is courtesy of Nick from Xtreme Sports photography; a regular photographer at our Track Days. He captured some wonderful photos of this very photogenic track and from comments made, people were really pleased with their pictures.
