Big thanks to everyone for another tremendously enjoyable day, what a gem that circuit is :) Despite looking slightly daunting in a couple of places, I was surprised at how user-friendly it is - even in the early sessions I found that over-enthusiasm could be easily corrected and after an instruction session (thanks Pete) it was undiluted fun, fun, fun. Well, until the bang and the smoke that is  Apologies to anyone who was behind me at that particular moment, I suspect it didn't smell too good either... Good to see some familiar faces and some new, having such a friendly atmosphere adds the final polish to a top class event. Put me down for another day there - I needed another few sessions to get the lines properly consistent, particularly the right-hander before the hairpin. Loved that chicane though, boldness seems to be the key and you reap the rewards all the way up the back straight :D ________ Yamaha Royal Star Venture Specifications

Brilliant day!! I'm with Mike! Great day, great organisation, great company and a great circuit... I hadn't used the MG on any circuit for at least 18 months and it reminded me of what I'd been missing! (and how out of practise I was ;) ) Thanks again to dave and all the team involved. :) Nick

I’m glad you all enjoyed your visit up here to the North East and a big thank you to Dave for organising an event just 20 minutes from where I live! Unbelievable luck with the weather, the heavens opened as we were driving home after the final session and it rained quite heavily for about an hour. So how we got away with it being dry all the time we were on track I’ll never know. Best of luck with the engine rebuild Mike, I saw it in my rear view mirror and it looked quite spectacular. I managed to fine tune my damper settings (after a spin at Clearways proved I’d gone the wrong way with the adjustments! ) Margaret appreciated the extra sessions in the afternoon to improve her technique and all the passengers I took out came back with big grins on their faces:D ! Hope you’ll all be back to see us again next year.:)

My thanks to Anita and the Midget & Sprite club for badgering us into visiting Croft. As Mike says it was well worth the journey :D What a roller coaster - sweeping through the esses and then standing on the brakes for the hugely entertaining Sunny in Sunny out sequence. After concentrating on that it's no wonder that I struggled with the S bend and entry to that damned tricky hairpin. Despite instructor Pete's best endeavours explaining what I needed to do I still didn't crack it. So, it looks like I'll have to go back again next year ;) Mind you, the 240 miles drive down the A1 and M1 afterwards was a little daunting, but at least I was fortunate enough to make it back in the F. Commiserations to Stu (broken gearshift) and Mike (suspected drive shaft failure), both having to suffer long relay journey's via the AA :( As Paul said, our weather Angel seems to have returned after a short vacation for the poor beginners at Brands the other month. Brilliant weather. I didn't realise how much sun there was until I looked in the mirror this morning! If anyone has any photos of the day please upload them to the MGoT photo gallery Finally - huge thanks from me to Mike, Stu, Jennie, Neil and Anita for making it all work in that stressful first hour! And to Tony for his MGoT instruction debut alongside Pete and Jamie.

Had a great day until the Gear selector failed, a cracking track, a real mix of speed and technical which will take a good few visits to master. We were so lucky with the weather ! As Dave left at 6pm it started to spit with rain and by 6.30 it was really heavy and it was still really heavy at 9pm as i sat all alone in the middle of the paddock still awaiting my AA relay flat back, :( He arrived just after and I finally got back to a travel Lodge near Techspeed at 12.30am Yawn.... Roll on Castle Coombe !! Stu
