MGoT 3rd Annual General MeetingSecretary’s ReportMGCC and other ClubsMGoT continues as a Branch of MGCC. The MGCC has a new Board, chaired by Peter Best. We have developed a good relationship with Malcolm Eades the Vice-Chairman, and recently attended a Board meeting at his invitation. During the year Rob Gammage, MGCC Chief Executive retired and Sharon Smith has recently resigned. Richard Jones as MGCC General Manager, with Steve Carr as Competitions Secretary, has now replaced them. We are currently in discussion with the Board regarding the further development of operational support for our activities. We have continued to attend all the Council meetings and the last MGCC AGM.
We have further developed our relationship with Richard Monk, General Manager, MGOC and we are now featured on their website and in their club magazine. The number of MGOC registrations on our site has increased.
In keeping with our inclusive approach we continue to encourage all MG enthusiasts to participate in MGoT events and therefore we regularly post on all the major forums, .org, XPF, BBS and MGZR.
MembershipWe have had promotional stands at various events, including MGCC Silvertone, MG Day at Stoneleigh and the Track Day Organisers event at Rockingham. Our mailing list has continued to grow and currently stands at over 1000. Of these nearly 700 are also registered on our new website and approx 200 are active track participants. We still need to encourage more members out on track and will again offer dedicated novice events this year. We still need to grow the member base to support our expanded programme of events for 2007
PartnersWe have continued with our strategy of working with Partners to bring added value to MGoT members without diverting our scarce resources into non-track activity. We are developing a new relationship with Club Triumph and hope that they will be able to risk share with us on a number of events.
FutureWe hope to continue as a Branch of MGCC and look forward to working with the club’s new management team. We will also continue to reinforce our ‘inclusive’ position and welcome all responsible MG track day enthusiasts who share our values.
Steve Hill Secretary MGoT 21st April 2007
