23 Feb 2013
This event is now fully booked but we usually getsome cancellations. To be put on the reserve list for these spacesplease email Nigel Silman at NigelS@MGs-on-Track.co.uk . Please include a phone contact number in your email so that we can contact you quickly when a space becomes available. Unlike most of our events this track day is on a Saturday. It is the first of two visits here in 2013 and will be a four session per hour day. Each session will have 10 cars. PLEASE NOTE THAT IN PREPARATION FOR THE LUNCHTIME CHARITY PARADE LAPS, TRACK DAY DRIVERS WILL ONLY HAVE 10 MINS RATHER THAN 15 MINS OF TRACK TIME IN THE FINAL MORNING SESSION. We therefore expect each car to have one 1 hour 25 minutes of track time during the day assuming no stoppages. We are sorry but this day is only open to MG/Rover registered members, there is no option for compatible makes. We have one to one Instruction available in the morning and Coaching in the afternoon. The cost for coaching includes all three afternoon sessions with the same instructor and gives a great opportunity to focus on any aspect of your driving you wish to develop. Once all the bookings are in we'll assign the sessions on the basis of experience, so that one session will be more suitable to beginners and the less experienced track day drivers, two to intermediates and one to the more experienced. We will email an event guide with final instructions during the week before the event. Cars must be roadworthy and comply with current MOT legislation. You must bring your FULL driving license to the sign-on - that's the plastic card AND the paper version, or you may not be allowed on track. All persons going on track must wear a suitable crash helmet of recognised manufacture and have arms and legs covered. Charity Parade laps for SpectatorsSpectators are always welcome at our days and there is no admission fee. On this particular day there will be an opportunity for spectators to take their car around the Goodwood track for a few laps at 12:00. This will be done at a reduced speed behind a course car, so no thrashing of any components involved. This is being organised by our good friends from Chichester 1006 branch of the MG Owners Club to raise funds for a local charity. There is no need to pre-book, just turn up on the morning by 11:30hrs and buy a ticket. Parade lap participants will not be required to wear helmets buts must sign an indemnity. InstructionWe encourage all drivers to take the opportunity of instruction with our Association of Racing Drivers Schools (ARDS) Grade A qualified instructors.
