Unlike most of our events this track day is on a
Saturday. It is the first of two visits here in 2013 and will be a four sessionper hour day. Each session will have 10 cars. PLEASE NOTE THAT INPREPARATION FOR THE LUNCHTIME CHARITY PARADE LAPS, TRACK DAY DRIVERSWILL ONLY HAVE 10 MINS RATHER THAN 15 MINS OF TRACK TIME IN THE FINALMORNING SESSION. We therefore expect each car to have one 1 hour 25minutes of track time during the day assuming no stoppages.
We are sorry but this day is only open to MG/Rover registeredmembers, there is no option for compatible makes. We have one to oneInstruction available in the morning and Coaching in the afternoon. Thecost for coaching includes three afternoon sessions with the sameinstructor and gives a great opportunity to focus on any aspect of yourdriving you wish to develop. Once all the bookings are in we'll assign the sessions on the basis ofexperience, so that one session will be more suitable to beginners andthe less experienced track day drivers, two to intermediates and one tothe more experienced. We will email an event guide with final instructions during the weekbefore the event. Cars must be roadworthy and comply with current MOT legislation. Youmust bring your FULL driving license to the sign-on - that's the plasticcard AND the paper version, or you may not be allowed on track. All persons going on track must wear a suitable crash helmet of recognised manufacture and have arms and legs covered. Charity Parade laps for SpectatorsSpectators are always welcome at our days and there is no admission fee.On this particular day there will be an opportunity for spectators totake their car around the Goodwood track for a few laps at 12:00. Thiswill be done at a reduced speed behind a course car, so no thrashing ofany components involved. This is being organised by our good friendsfrom Chichester 1006 branch of the MG Owners Club to raise funds for alocal charity. There is no need to pre-book, just turn up on the morningby 11:30hrs and buy a ticket. Parade lap participants will not berequired to wear helmets but must sign an indemnity. Instruction and CoachingWe encourage all drivers to take the opportunity of instruction with ourAssociation of Racing Drivers Schools (ARDS) Grade A qualifiedinstructors. We strongly advise all levels of experience to takeadvantage of these, but it is especially beneficial for first time andnovice drivers. Book and pay at the same time you book your place. Please note we are unable to provide more than two instruction sessionsper car. Any additional booked will be cancelled. To help us schedule the instructor's time between the groups we have separated sessions into three types :-
Sighting Lap Instruction. - This is ideal for first timers, your instruction will be first thing in the morning during the sighting laps whilst there is no overtaking and cars are running at a slower pace. This allows plenty of time for the instructor to describe and guide you along the best line through the corners. There being no overtaking, you don't have the additional task load of keeping an eye in your rear mirror for approaching cars.
Novice Instruction - This is our standard instruction, carried out through the morning novice group sessions. Please book this only if you are a novice or first timer.
Advanced Instruction - This is our standard instruction, carried out through the morning intermediate and advanced sessions. Please book this if you are Experienced or Somewhat experienced.
