Hi John, Yes, I think a number of us on the committee are planning to attend. Dave Pearce is able to see the numbers booked from MGoT on the LoT website, so i am sure he will update this thread.
I have booked - something to start the season off. There are construction works going on hence the use of the 2 mile circuit this time. It's a great circuit though with plenty of run off for anyone considering it.
Looks like a good turn out been few times to Bedford hoping to have the throttle bodies on by then so was thinking of a test run out as its local Few videos if anyone is interested on GT track tho https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9-1tm3Fl6g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9-1tm3Fl6g
We have 6 MGs that I recognise so far, possibly more but the LoT site is not showing whether bookings are MGoT or LoT like they did previously. I have always done either the GT or the SW circuit before but the SEN is about the same length as the SW so it should be fine. As Martin says, plenty of run-off areas so you don't need to worry too much if it is slippery; do remember the noise limit though as they are very strict!
I would be going but 'Er Indoors has decided to have her birthday that weekend. Complete lack of consideration. You would think after all this time she could organise her birthday for when I don't want to be elsewhere.
Have just taken the gearbox out of the old 'B', need to strip it and repair 2nd gear sychro. Fingers crossed should be back together easily in time, so I should be there.
Me too...............Mark S in my front wheel drive ABS and power steering ZS180. Needed all of it last year and still managed to spin. Lets hope for a nice dry day.
People booked as of today: Brian Goodban Ken Bound John Grottick Colin Newbold Simon Nicholl Paul Clarke Mark Stevens Martin Holmes Me! Still 16 places left so come on people........
Looking a good start do you know there what there cars are? Just need to check holiday at work is ok and get car running correctly on the throttle bodies but in Tenerife till next week
Have just booked for Bedford. If I don't get my o/d gearbox 2nd gear synchro sorted in time I have a good spare non-o/d box I can bung in for now. Sorted! See you all there, Cheers, Richard.
How do I book? Instead of waiting another 18 months to complete my B and get on track with you guys, today I sold my sports bike and bought a 2002 MGF Trophy. This means I can have my cake and eat it! Picking it up Wednesday/Thursday. Stupid question im sure but where/how do I book this event and get more details? Thanks, Paul.
Hi Paul Go to our News & Events section here, click on the Bedford event Info and follow the link at the bottom of the Bedford page. Good luck Tim
Thanks Tim, couldn't see it for looking. Joined the MGOC last night. Getting delivery of the car Wednesday/Thursday so will book (with tuition) soon as I get home! Hopefully there will still be a place. If not Donnington, Brands, Snetterton, Cadwell and Silverstone are all on my list. How to I check if my Motorcycle full face helmet is up to spec for the MGOT days?
Hi Paul Unfortunately m/c helmets never have qualified for cars, there are different needs and standards for the two activities. That said it is up to you to self scrutineer and sign the indemnity stating that you are complying. Have a read of our FAQ here Don't despair, you can always hire one for a tenner.
Have booked in to the Premier inn at Bedford marina, £35 for the Friday night. Let me know if anyone else is staying their, or nearby and we could meet up for a drink. Cheers, Richard
Nice one you got to go into the Priority for a drink and bit of food mate and only around 20mins from track
Hi Paul, We noticed that you said you have joined the MGOC. MGoT is a branch of the MG Car Club not the owners club and you have to be an MGCC member to get the members price unfortunately - might not be too late to cancel and join the MGCC?
Hi John, Hope you get your throttle bodies sorted in time. We try to stay at Premier Inns as they usually have a restaurant and bar attached, never had a bad meal or pint yet! Last year we stayed at a Travel lodge up the A6, bit of a dive and nowhere to eat and drink. Got the engine and g/box back in the 'B' at the weekend but couldn't find the propshaft that goes with the 3 synchro box so I had to order another, which turned up today. Happy days! See you at Bedford. Cheers, Richard
